Great unless the seat you use it on is larger September 6, 2010 Bill Wilder (East coaster) This is a great idea with handles and all but it doesnt have the stability sometimes when used on public toilet that has reasonable sized opening. It folds and will buckle under the pressure if not held while my son is on it. He is 2 years old and about 30 lbs.
Great idea!! September 4, 2010 Freedom21 Great for when you have to use the bathroom at a park or worse.... a gas station. TP just doesn't cut in those situations. Fits nice in a diaper bag but not a purse! Handles on the edge are a great feature for little ones.
Public bathroom lifesaver August 25, 2010 Raveness (Virginia, USA) This is such a great little invention. It folds up so compact that I can drop it into a gallon freezer bag, and put it in my purse and leave the diaper bag at home! It provides handles so my daughter doesn't have to put her hands on the public toilet to rest. We haven't had any problems with pinching or anything with the covered hinges, but every once in a while, if she isn't positioned properly with her legs closed enough, we have had a couple of instances of the pee shooting forward onto her clothes... :( But really, I think you'll have that with any little inset potty seat. The openings are pretty small on most of them. Just takes a little practice. For me, it didn't detract from it's overall functionality. The fact that I was able to use it in a port-a-john without worries sealed the deal. ;) It's great for under $10.
Good potty seat August 13, 2010 Tboo I think its a good potty seat for on the go. It folds up small enough to fit in a diaper bag and my daughter has no problems using it. I also bought the disposable toilette seat covers and use them first on the toilette then place the folding potty seat down so that I dont have to worry as much about germs getting on her potty seat.
Very Happy Customer August 5, 2010 CeeCee (Islander) My family and I do a lot of traveling and I was looking for an inexpensive potty seat that will work and be easy to carry. I loked at several products and found the PRIMO folding potty seat and after reading the other reviews I gave it a try. Four months of using this has left me a very happy customer.
1. The price: it's under ten dollars. Prices for portable seats range from $9.99 to almost $35.00.The BABYBJĂ–RN Toilet Trainer was at the expensive end and even though I like BABYBJORN products I was reluctant to spend that much for a portable seat.
2. Fit: I have yet to come across a public toilet seat that the PRIMO does not work with. Airports, malls, restaurants - I've had no problems so far. It was a good thing that I read the reviews first, however. One tip by other customers is to place the seat at the front part of the toilet instead of the middle or towards the back part of the seat. This not only helps with the fit, but it prevents the seat from folding or pinching once you place your child on it.
3. Child-approved: When my daughter was first potty trained she was only comfortable using the toilet at home. I was worried about accidents and her holding it for too long. She put up a fuss the first two times I used the PRIMO, but once she became comfortable with the seat we now have no worries. She likes the handles on the side and I'm just happy she has something to hold on to that's not part of the public toilet seat or the stalls.
4. Easy to carry: The PRIMO is packaged in a ziplock bag (a little smaller than a gallon size ziplock) and instead of throwing it away I used it to carry the seat, a small Lysol spray, hand sanitizer, and papertowels. The seat, when folded, fits into a gallon size ziplock with more than enough room for other things. I carry a messenger bag for a purse so the seat will fit into most medium to large bags or purses. Definitely a carry on if you are flying.
Overall this has been a great purchase. Very low cost, durable, easy to carry and clean, and my daughter is comfortable with it. I'm glad I shopped around and read reviews.
